Damiane is a playable character in Crimson Desert from Chapter 3, when Kliff founds the Greymane camp at Howling Hill (according to Game Rant), an agile fighter with rapiers and guns only she can use, voiced in English by Rebecca Hanssen. Updates since launch gave her the Sword of Starlight, Reckoning, unarmed skills, Blackstar and the Abyss.
Damiane is the second playable character of Crimson Desert, unlocked in Chapter 3, according to Game Rant: a lighter, faster fighter than Kliff, with rapiers and guns that only she can use. Rebecca Hanssen voices her in English, and in Pearl Abyss's "Meet the Cast" video (Feb 25, 2026) she describes Damiane as "very down to earth, a fierce fighter, and headstrong", someone who "will stand up for what she believes in regardless of who is telling her otherwise". Damiane joins the Greymanes when Kliff builds his camp at Howling Hill, and since the game came out on Mar 19, 2026, Pearl Abyss has given her her own sword, new skills and, from July, the Abyss.

Who Damiane is
Rebecca Hanssen says she is herself "naturally conflict-avoidant", so channeling Damiane's willful side "was an absolute joy". Damiane comes to the Greymanes from outside: Pearl Abyss names Oongka, Yann and Naira, not her, as the comrades scattered in the Black Bears' ambush, and she joins only in Chapter 3. "Meet the Cast" opens her part of the video with a line that hints at her past: "I suppose I never told you why I'm on the run, did I?" Pearl Abyss has kept the rest of her story for the game; the Story page and Main Quests and Chapters follow it.
How to unlock Damiane
Damiane becomes playable in Chapter 3, "Howling Hill". According to TheGamer's camp guide (Apr 27, 2026), the quest "A Fresh Start", in which Kliff establishes the Greymane Camp on land granted by Marquis Serkis, unlocks her; Game Rant names the quest "Homestead". From then on she can be chosen on the Character Wheel, explore freely and take side quests, or follow Kliff or Oongka as a companion with "Gather"; companions do not join boss fights. Some main quests still have to be played as Kliff.
Weapons
Damiane fights with rapiers and guns that only she can equip, and is lighter and more agile than Kliff, according to Game Rant (Mar 19, 2026). She also carries a shield, which she throws (Shield Toss) and charges with. Pearl Abyss's patch notes show her with greatswords, spears, muskets, scythes and two-handed cannons as well, and with the Eastern Witch's Fan. See Weapons and Gear.
Her own weapon is the Sword of Starlight, an exclusive one-handed sword that patch 1.04.00 (Apr 23, 2026) added as a quest reward. Her quest for it leads to Jijeong Temple, as a fix in patch 1.05.00 (May 2, 2026) shows: it solved a clash there with Chapter 9's "Face the Inner Self". Patch 1.11.00 (Jun 12, 2026) let her use the Mining Drill and Chainsaw.
Skills
Damiane's skills named in Pearl Abyss's patch notes include Shield Toss, Skystep (a platform in the air), Piercing Light, Smiting Strike, Whirl Kick, Storm Pillar, Lightning Strike, Flame Rush and Reckoning. Game Rant's guide to her best skills (Mar 25, 2026) recommends Smiting Strike, Sword Flurry, Piercing Light (Uppercut and Skewer), Shield Toss, Shield Sentinel, which turns her shield into an attack drone, Focus Shot, Evasive Smite and Imbue Element.
Pearl Abyss promised on Apr 10, 2026 to give Damiane and Oongka skills to match Kliff's Force Palm and Axiom Force, and on Jun 2 that "all three playable characters can get a share of the spotlight". Damiane's additions, from the official patch notes:
- 1.00.02 (Mar 19, 2026): a follow-up to her greatsword stab and uppercut.
- 1.03.00 (Apr 11, 2026): Axiom Force and Nature's Snare; Shield Toss now works like Kliff's Force Palm.
- 1.04.00 (Apr 23, 2026): a skill with the effect of Kliff's Focused Force Palm, and the Sword of Starlight.
- 1.07.00 (May 15, 2026): unarmed combat skills, and Aerial Stab.
- 1.08.00 (May 22, 2026): a skill equivalent to Focused Aerial Roll.
- 1.09.00 (May 29, 2026): Reckoning, a burst of rapid light spears that costs 20 Spirit, used with the input of Kliff's Blinding Flash Finisher.
- 1.12.00 (Jun 19, 2026): she can ride Blackstar, equip Visiones and read memories; an adjusted Whirl Kick and her own sitting animation.
- 1.13.00 (Jul 3, 2026): she can enter the Abyss.
- 1.14.00 (Jul 16, 2026): Skystep now uses the same input as Oongka's Vertical Flight.
Since Crimson Desert Enhanced (patch 2.00.00, Aug 25, 2026), every Abyss Artifact Kliff or Oongka spends on a skill gives Damiane the same number of Abyss Links for her own, and her skills can be reset on their own. See Skills and Abyss Artifacts.
Outfits
Damiane has her own wardrobe. Patch 1.12.00 added a pair of gloves for her, and 1.13.00 added eight pieces of armor and let her wear three boss outfits: five pieces of the Guardian of Odeck outfit, three of the Dark Marksman and one of the Masked Liberator. For Charting the Unknown (Oct 29, 2026), her pre-order bonus is the Charter's Light Diving Set, and Steam's DLC page says players "follow Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane as they forge their own paths forward".
