Crimson Desert is on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Xbox app), Mac (Steam and the Mac App Store) and GeForce NOW, all of which it reached on the same day, Mar 19, 2026 (Mar 20 in Asia), a week after Pearl Abyss's launch trailer. In Pearl Abyss's own words it launched on "PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam (PC & Mac), Epic Games Store, Mac App Store, and GeForce NOW", and its launch release adds the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is targeted for the first half of 2027 but has no date. There is no PS4, Xbox One or mobile version, and as of Oct 21, 2026 the game is sold on every platform; it is not part of Game Pass or PlayStation Plus. Since Aug 25, 2026 the stores list it as "Crimson Desert Enhanced", the free update that every owner received on every platform (Crimson Desert Enhanced).

PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro

Crimson Desert is a PS5 game with a PS5 Pro Enhanced label, and it offers three graphics modes on both machines. Digital Foundry's PS5 Pro review lists them as a performance mode, a balanced mode and a quality mode, rendering internally at 1080p, 1440p and 4K, and PlayStation's own page gives Quality at 30fps, Balanced at 40fps on 120Hz displays and Performance. On the PS5 Pro the game uses the upgraded PSSR and the console's High CPU Frequency Mode, the PlayStation Blog reported on Mar 4, 2026; it also supports DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and Tempest 3D Audio. Each mode, and what patches changed in them, is on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Performance.

The PlayStation version is a purchase, not a PlayStation Plus catalog game. PlayStation Plus Premium members who own it can stream it to a PS5 or PlayStation Portal, according to PlayStation.com (read Oct 20, 2026). PS5 pre-orders came with the Grotevant Plate Set, a PlayStation exclusive, and physical PS5 editions differ in language support by region: Pearl Abyss's FAQ says Asian discs carry Chinese while the Korean and Japanese discs do not.

Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC

Crimson Desert runs on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, but the Series S version gives up ray tracing. Digital Foundry noted in its PS5 Pro review that the Series S version does not appear to have ray tracing, and its later Xbox review, as Pure Xbox summarized it in Apr 2026, found that version "can't be readily recommended". The Xbox Store lists the game as Optimized for Xbox Series X|S with Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers the console and the Xbox app on Windows, with a shared save.

Crimson Desert is not on Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Cloud Gaming streams it only to players who both own the game and have a Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate subscription (Xbox Store, read Oct 20, 2026). At launch some players could not start it through the Xbox app on PC, and Pearl Abyss's FAQ gave a workaround: update the Gaming Services app from the Microsoft Store.

PC: Steam, Epic Games Store and the Xbox app

On Windows, Crimson Desert is sold on Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Xbox app. Digital Foundry's PC preview of Mar 5, 2026 ran it at native 4K on Ultra on a Ryzen 9 and a Radeon RX 7900 XTX, mostly at 60fps. The minimum PC is a Ryzen 5 2600X or Core i5-8500 with 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 5500 XT, with 150 GB free on an SSD, according to Steam; every tier and setting is on PC Requirements and Settings.

The Steam version uses Denuvo Anti-tamper and allows activation on five PCs a day, Steam's store page says. On PC the game supports Xbox controllers and the DualSense, the latter over USB only, according to Pearl Abyss's FAQ of Mar 12, 2026. Intel Arc graphics cards were not supported at launch; support arrived in update 1.03.00 on Apr 11, 2026.

Mac

Crimson Desert came to Mac on launch day, on Steam and the Mac App Store, after Apple announced it at WWDC in June 2025. It runs only on Apple silicon: Pearl Abyss's minimum is an M2 Pro, M3 or M4 with 16 GB of memory and macOS 15, and it recommends an M3 Pro, M4 Pro or M5 with macOS 26 "Tahoe" (notice 62). The Mac App Store listing says "M1 or later", but Pearl Abyss's own minimum is the one to trust. Frame generation works on Mac through MetalFX. The Mac App Store sells it as "Crimson Desert Enhanced" for $69.99, a 124.9 GB download rated 18+ (read Oct 20, 2026).

Mac App Store patches often arrive later than on other stores: Pearl Abyss's 2.03.00 notes listed the Mac App Store build as "in progress", and the Enhanced update reached the Mac App Store as version 2.0.4 on Aug 31, 2026, six days after the other platforms.

GeForce NOW, ROG Xbox Ally and Steam Deck

Crimson Desert streams on NVIDIA's GeForce NOW, which Pearl Abyss announced at CES 2026 on Jan 7, 2026 and listed among the launch platforms in its FAQ. Pearl Abyss published targets for the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds on Mar 10, 2026, measured on power with Turbo Mode on: the Ally X runs a 60fps Performance mode at 1080p upscaled from 720p with FSR 3 Frame Generation, and the base Ally 720p at 40fps with frame generation, as Game Informer transcribed the tables.

The Steam Deck is not supported. In August 2026 Steam briefly showed Crimson Desert as Steam Deck Verified, then returned it to Unsupported; Steam Deck HQ called the badge "blatantly incorrect" on Aug 14, 2026 and found the game often below 30fps even at the lowest settings with FSR 3.1 Ultra Performance.

Cross-save and cross-play

Crimson Desert has had cross-save since update 1.14.00 on Jul 16, 2026, and Mac joined it in 2.02.00 on Sep 11, 2026, shortly after the Enhanced update came to every platform at once. At launch there was none: the FAQ of Mar 12 said plainly that cross-save "is not available". Pearl Abyss's Cross Save Guide links PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic accounts through a Cross-Save page on Pearl Abyss's site, and the game then shows a Cross-Save slot in which progress moves between them. The Mac App Store build received cross-save as version 2.0.12 on Oct 8, 2026, according to Apple's version history.

There is no cross-play because there is no multiplayer. Crimson Desert is a single-player game, and Pearl Abyss's 2Q26 earnings letter of Aug 11, 2026 says only that it is "conducting extensive research" into multiplayer. An internet connection is needed for the first setup and later patches; after that the game plays offline.

Languages

Crimson Desert is voiced in English by Alec Newman, Stewart Scudamore and Rebecca Hanssen as Kliff, Oongka and Damiane, and it now has full audio in eight languages. Steam lists English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Portuguese (Brazil) audio, and interface and subtitles in those plus Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish (Latin America), Traditional Chinese, Turkish and Arabic, 15 in all (Steam, read Oct 20, 2026). At launch full voice was English, Korean and Simplified Chinese only; the Enhanced update of Aug 25, 2026 added the German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese voices and the Arabic text (notice 125). Digital editions carry every language whatever the region.

Charting the Unknown by platform

Charting the Unknown, the first DLC, comes out on Oct 29, 2026 at 22:00 UTC (3 p.m. PT) on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store, for $24.99 (Steam). It is not coming to the Mac App Store at launch: Pearl Abyss's pre-order notice, revised Oct 12, 2026, says it will announce Mac plans separately. Steam's data lists Mac requirements for the DLC, but Pearl Abyss has not confirmed a Mac release. The DLC needs the base game and is not sold in some markets after a review of content and age rating requirements, which Pearl Abyss did not name.

Nintendo Switch 2

A Switch 2 version is in development but not dated. Pearl Abyss's 2Q26 earnings letter says it "has reached a playable baseline" and that the studio is "working toward a release targeted for the first half of 2027", while "it is difficult to confirm a definitive launch schedule at this time." Nintendo has announced nothing, as of Oct 21, 2026 (Nintendo Switch 2 Version).
