Launch fixes (March 2026)

Crimson Desert launched on Mar 19, 2026 at 22:00 UTC, and its first patches went at what reviewers and players complained of most: controls, menus and the early difficulty. The launch trailer shows the combat they were about, riders and fighters clashing across green plains and red desert. On Mar 21 Pearl Abyss apologized for "not providing keyboard and mouse players with a satisfactory gameplay experience" (Pearl Abyss), and within ten days 1.00.03, 1.01.00 and 1.02.00 added storage, more fast travel, easier early bosses, new movement controls and the first summonable Mounts.

On consoles, 1.00.03 made the 120Hz output optional. Digital Foundry explains why it matters: each mode aims at its own frame rate, "60fps for performance, 40 for balanced, and 30 for quality", and the 40fps balanced mode "requires a 120Hz output to function correctly" (PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Performance).

The April to June roadmap

Pearl Abyss laid out its spring plans in a Dev Update on Apr 9, 2026: boss rematches, re-blockades, difficulty settings, new skills for Damiane and Oongka, storage, more mounts and pets, controller options and better distant scenery (Pearl Abyss). All of it shipped by June: difficulty in 1.04.00 (Difficulty and Accessibility), Boss Rematch in 1.05.00, Special Mounts in 1.06.00, pets from 1.04.00 to 1.11.00 (Pets), controller remapping in 1.09.00 and the Wyvern in 1.10.00.

PC players got frequent graphics fixes along the way: better FSR and frame generation in 1.02.00, Intel Arc and XeSS 3 in 1.03.00, ray-traced sun and moon shadows in 1.08.00. Before launch, Digital Foundry's PC first look described the settings they build on, presets "from minimum all the way up to cinematic", shown at native 4K on Ultra on a work-in-progress build (PC Requirements and Settings).

Summer: housing, cross-save and trading

A second Dev Update on Jun 2, 2026 covered June to September: story improvements, a Re-Blockade update, new combat content, cross-save, improvements for Damiane and Oongka, and trading and farming changes (Pearl Abyss). Outdoor housing came in 1.12.00 (Greymane Camp), Damiane and Oongka reached the Abyss in 1.13.00, cross-save in 1.14.00 on Jul 16 and the trading overhaul in 1.16.00 on Aug 1. Pearl Abyss's "Updates So Far" infographic of Jul 31, 2026 lines up every headline from 1.00.00 to 1.16.00.

Will Powers, Pearl Abyss's marketing and PR director, told The Washington Post the team keeps no public roadmap with fixed dates: "If you bake in a road map, you're presuming."

Enhanced and after

Version 2.00.00 of Aug 25, 2026 was the largest update: Crimson Desert Enhanced, with new story scenes and languages, the Abyss Link system and eight new skills for Kliff (Skills and Abyss Artifacts). It also split the fight against Golden Star, a golden mechanical dragon in guides' descriptions, into phases; the launch trailer shows a golden mechanical dragon in flight over a desert town. The 2.x updates since then have been smaller: camp funds in 2.01.00, Mac cross-save in 2.02.00 on Sep 11 (Platforms), new-game silver and photo mode in 2.03.00, and two hotfixes.
