Staglord
Saigord, the Staglord, is an armored warrior boss with antlers, a red cape and an ornate shield in Crimson Desert's Hernand, fought at the Icemoor Castle Ruins at the end of the House Serkis questline; TheGamer's guide describes two phases and says to dodge sideways and parry the attack after the phase change. He drops the Staglord's Shield and an Abyss Artifact.
Saigord, the Staglord, is a duelist boss in Crimson Desert's Hernand: a warrior in plate armor, an antlered helm and a red cape who fights with a sword and an ornate round shield in the snow-covered Icemoor Castle Ruins. In Pearl Abyss's gamescom 2024 video, made in a pre-release demo build, he waits at the top of the ruins' stairs and leaps down at Kliff. In the finished game, released on Mar 19, 2026 (Mar 20 in Asia), he ends the House Serkis questline, and TheGamer's guide describes a fight of two phases won by patience: dodge to the side, punish his back and parry the blow that follows the phase change. Pearl Abyss's names for him are "Saigord, the Staglord" and, in its 2024 video, "Staglord".

Where to find the Staglord
The Staglord is optional, at the end of a faction questline. Game Rant's boss list places him at the Icemoor Castle Ruins in Hernand, reached through "The Broken Trail", a House Serkis faction quest (Game Rant, Apr 1, 2026). TheGamer's guide calls the chain "Lord Amidst the Ruins": it begins with The Broken Trail and leads to "King of the Fallen Kingdom", the mission to defeat him. It says you need to be around Chapter 4, to have finished the House Roberts questline (with its boss, the Crimson Nightmare), to have helped the man behind Anvil Hill and to have done the introductory bounty for the pickpocket Jeffrey in Hernand (TheGamer, Mar 27, 2026).
The approach is quiet. Pearl Abyss's video opens with Kliff walking alone through the ruins: broken stone walls and towers under snow, pines on the hills, and a round arena ringed by crates and barrels below a flight of stairs.
The fight
The first phase is a fast duel. Once the health bar appears, the Staglord rushes in behind his shield and swings wide combos, sending snow flying; Kliff answers with sword and shield and a green-lit skill. TheGamer warns that he chains multi-hit combos and commits to each attack while showing its direction: wait for the combo to end before you swing.
Blocks and parries decide the exchanges. The video shows the two trading blows at close range, sparks flying from the shields, the Staglord pressing in behind his shield between sword strikes. TheGamer's advice: bait an attack, then dodge to either side for free hits on his back, and save heavy attacks for those openings, where they deal big damage and can stagger him.
The second phase begins with a short scene: the Staglord raises his shield and faces Kliff, and when the fight resumes his health bar is red. This is the moment TheGamer singles out: parry the hit that follows the phase change for a large damage window.
The second phase hits harder. The screen flashes red as his strongest blows land, and Kliff is driven back across the arena before closing in again. TheGamer suggests jumping and using Force Palm for an aerial advantage, and bringing plenty of stamina and healing items, since you will be moving the whole time.
The video ends in a finishing scene: a killing blow, the Staglord's collapse in the snow, and the wounded lord slumped on a stone throne at the top of the stairs as Kliff walks up to him.
Rewards
Beating the Staglord gives an Abyss Artifact (the resource that raises health and stamina and unlocks skills, Skills and Abyss Artifacts), the Staglord's Shield and the liberation of the Icemoor Castle Ruins, according to TheGamer. Its guide lists the shield with 6 Defense, Attack Speed Lv. 2, Fortification Bonus, Aegis Bonus and refinement at Lv. 2, and recommends the Darkbringer Sword and the Frostcursed Armor Set for the fight (Weapons and Gear).
Tips
- Patience first. Let his combos finish; attacking into them trades badly.
- Sidestep, don't back off. A dodge to either side puts you at his back.
- Parry the phase change. The attack right after the transition is the big opening.
- Use the difficulty setting. Since 1.04.00 (Apr 23, 2026), Easy widens the parry and dodge windows and Hard adds combat patterns for certain bosses (notice 84; Difficulty and Accessibility).
